British police have arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of stabbing two Jewish individuals in Golders Green, a neighborhood in north London with a large Jewish community. The Shomrim Jewish neighborhood watch reported the incident on Wednesday.

According to Shomrim, the suspect was seen running with a knife, allegedly attempting to stab Jewish members of the public. The two victims are being treated by Hatzola, a Jewish volunteer ambulance service.

The Community Security Trust (CST), a charity providing security to Jewish groups, also confirmed the attack and stated it is working closely with the police. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the stabbing as “deeply concerning” and confirmed a police investigation is underway.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the attack, calling it “appalling” and emphasizing that there is no place for antisemitism in society. The incident follows a series of arson attacks on synagogues and Jewish community sites in north London in recent weeks.

In late March, four Hatzola ambulances were set on fire. Subsequent attacks targeted the Kenton United Synagogue in Harrow, a Jewish charity building, and the Finchley Reform Synagogue last week. Police have arrested 26 people in connection with these attacks.

Many of the incidents have been claimed by a little-known group, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI), believed to be linked to Iran. The attacks have occurred since the start of the US-Israel war on Iran on February 28.
