Since the beginning of the year, the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection has received over 850 complaints related to solid household waste removal services.

Citizens complained about delays in waste removal, low service quality, violation of contract terms, and unjustified debt accruals by service organizations. In some cases, the existence of such debts limited consumers' ability to pay for electricity, leading to additional claims.
An inspection revealed that in some regions, the established frequency of waste removal is not being followed, and bills were issued to residents without sufficient justification. The highest number of complaints were recorded in Namangan, Kashkadarya, Jizzakh, Tashkent, and Fergana regions.
To protect citizens' rights, the committee sent a request to the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development, demanding timely and quality waste removal, elimination of unjustified charges, and a review of restrictions on electricity payments.
The agency reminded that, according to legislation, services must be provided within established deadlines, and if they are absent or of inadequate quality, consumers have the right not to pay for the corresponding period.
