Nurlanbek Turganbek uulu, the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh), has resigned. He announced his decision on Thursday during a parliamentary session.

"In light of recent events, I consider it important to note: I do not serve one or two individuals; I serve the state and the people. I have decided to resign voluntarily," he stated.

According to Turganbek uulu, he will continue working as a member of parliament.

"I want to emphasize that I have never worked for one or two people; I have always acted in the interests of the country and the Kyrgyz people. Throughout this time, I have contributed to making important and necessary decisions. I am not going anywhere; I will work as a deputy. We must learn to work without intrigue to preserve political stability," he stressed.

The Speaker also mentioned that a parliamentary delegation recently returned from Turkey, where they had a productive working visit.

Earlier, media reports suggested the possible resignation of the head of the Jogorku Kenesh after his return from Turkey. These reports came amid the resignation of the head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev.
