The United States is sending additional military forces to Iran. This was announced by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in an interview with Fox News.

According to him, President Donald Trump believes that after previous US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Washington has stronger positions to negotiate a favorable deal with Tehran. Bessent stated that the Iranian leadership "understands only brute force"—both in the financial and military spheres.

Earlier, Trump reported on a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his representatives, during which the negotiation process with Iran was discussed. The US president emphasized that dialogue must continue to determine if an agreement on Iran's nuclear program is possible.

Previously, in an interview with Axios, Trump said his administration is considering tough measures against Iran if negotiations fail. According to him, if no agreement is reached, the US could act as it did in June 2025, when strikes were carried out on Iranian nuclear facilities.
