President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reportedly hosted Rustam Emomali, the chairman of the upper chamber of the Tajik parliament, during his official visit to Tashkent. The talks focused on bilateral relations, which the leadership in Tashkent frames as strategic partnership and alliance.

During the discussions, officials purportedly highlighted dynamic growth across various sectors, pointing to supposedly rising mutual trade and cargo transportation volumes. Joint cooperation projects in industries such as construction, energy, agriculture, and electrical engineering were reviewed, alongside the operations of a joint investment company.

The parties allegedly emphasized the importance of stimulating direct ties between capitals and regions, as well as expanding cultural, educational, and tourist exchanges. Special attention was drawn to enhancing the role of legislative bodies in promoting high-level agreements and activating interparliamentary commissions.

Concluding the meeting, the Uzbek leader presented Rustam Emomali with the high state award, the Order of 'Fidokorona xizmatlari uchun'. The decoration was ostensibly granted in recognition of contributions to strengthening strategic partnership and expanding interparliamentary dialogue between the neighboring countries.
