Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. An emergency hydrometeorological warning has been issued for the foothill and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan from March 2 to 6 due to expected rainfall. According to Uzhydromet, precipitation may trigger mudflow and flood phenomena in several regions.
At-risk areas include: Kashkadarya region (Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Kamashi, Guzar districts), Surkhandarya region (Sariosiyo, Uzun, Altynsay, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shurchi, Kumkurgan, Muzrabad districts), Samarkand region (Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Koshrabot, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Jomboy, Ishtikhon districts), Navoi region (Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimekh, Karmana districts), Jizzakh region (Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Farish, Yangiabad districts), Tashkent region (Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Piskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk), Namangan region (Pop, Kosonsoy, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan districts), Fergana region (Sokh, Shahrikhon, Fergana, Beshariq districts), Andijan region (Andijan, Asaka, Jalolquduq, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts and the city of Khanabad).
Additionally, accumulation of rainwater may lead to flooding in some districts of the republic.
Residents of foothill and mountainous areas, as well as tourists and drivers, are advised to take precautions and consider the forecast when planning trips.
