According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the volume of construction work in the first half of 2024 decreased by 5.2% compared to the same period last year. This marks a significant slowdown in the industry.

Experts attribute the decline to a general economic slowdown and reduced investment activity. In particular, the number of private construction projects has decreased.

Government measures, including tax incentives and credit programs, have not yet yielded the expected results. Leaders of construction organizations emphasize the need for additional support to stabilize the situation.

Rising prices for construction materials and a shortage of labor are also negatively impacting the sector. Analysts predict that this trend may continue until the end of the year.
