Uzbekistan continues its tax declaration campaign for artists working in the concert and entertainment sector. As of May 1, over a thousand performers have reported their incomes, with figures ranging from thousands to hundreds of millions of soums.
The total declared income amounted to 6,478.5 million soums, of which the taxable base was 5,091.9 million soums. The accrued income tax reached 599.7 million soums.
Analysis revealed a significant income gap among performers. In the first rating group, 47 artists declared 1,495.8 million soums; in the second, 100 people reported 901.4 million soums; and the main mass of 953 performers generated 4,081.3 million soums in income.
Most singers earn relatively modest amounts: 375 declarations showed income up to 1 million soums, and another 576 up to 10 million soums. However, there are also wealthier artists: 7 declarations reflect incomes up to 152 million soums.
The tax burden also varies, from tens of thousands of soums per year to over 10 million soums for the highest-earning performers.
Tax authorities remind that the deadline for paying tax on submitted declarations is set for June 1, 2026.
Earlier, the Ministry of Justice introduced a bill that would take control of the show business to a new level. Starting September 1, 2026, absolutely all performances – from large concerts to private celebrations in restaurants – will have to be pre-registered in the Soliq mobile application.
