The 6th World Ethnosport Festival has started in Istanbul, aiming to preserve and promote traditional sports and cultural heritage of the world's peoples.

The international forum has brought together representatives from dozens of countries. The Uzbekistan delegation includes officials from the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, and the Ethnosport Association of the republic.

A key event for the delegation was a meeting with the President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Necmeddin Bilal Erdogan. The sides discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation and integrating Uzbek national games into the global ethnosport ecosystem.

A large-scale presentation of Uzbek sports disciplines is organized at the festival venues, with a focus on promoting kurash and Uzbek jang san'ati as unique elements of the country's intangible cultural heritage.
