A delegation from the Tashkent city administration, led by Shavkat Umurzakov, held talks with the management of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) during an official visit to China. The central topic was a proposed 100-kilometer toll ring road to be built on a commercial basis.
In addition to the ring road, the city authorities proposed another toll highway connecting central Tashkent with a new international airport planned for construction in the coming years.
The sides also discussed other urban modernization initiatives. CRCC was invited to invest in a comprehensive renovation program for the capital, involving the development of new residential and business quarters on vacated lands. Due to growing construction volumes, the city proposed creating a specialized landfill for household and construction waste processing according to modern environmental standards.
Further talks covered the potential involvement of CRCC in building social infrastructure facilities, including schools, kindergartens, and medical institutions.
Following the negotiations, CRCC management confirmed interest in studying the proposed initiatives, with particular attention to road projects, and expressed readiness for continued practical cooperation with the Tashkent administration.
