President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, accompanied by his wife, attended the opening ceremony of the Kyrgyzstan Grand Prix of water-motor sport at Lake Issyk-Kul. The competition is being held for the first time in Central Asia as part of the F1H2O World Championship.
The event took place within the framework of the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. The leaders welcomed the participants and guests of the tournament.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev watched the qualifying races of the athletes. The Kyrgyzstan Grand Prix is the second stage of the F1H2O World Championship, often referred to as 'Formula 1 on water'.
Professional teams and racers from various countries are participating in the tournament. The competition program includes practice sessions, qualifying, and the main race on speedboats capable of reaching speeds of over 220 kilometers per hour.
Earlier, Uzbekistan supported the initiative to introduce a unified tourist visa for Central Asian countries. If implemented, foreign citizens would be able to visit several states in the region with a single permit, without the need to obtain separate visas.
