The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of Uzbekistan has uncovered violations related to unjustified price increases for medicines by three pharmaceutical companies: Nika Pharm, Astor Alliance, and Evro Farm Biznes.

During an analysis of data from the Fair Tech system, the committee identified instances where the companies failed to adhere to regulated prices. The violations involved “Gastromeg EZO” capsules sold by Nika Pharm, “Dolgit” cream and “Mezim” tablets sold by Astor Alliance, and “Brovensin” syrup sold by Evro Farm Biznes.

Based on information received from the Tax Committee, measures were taken to recover the unjustly obtained revenues. All three companies voluntarily rectified the violations and returned approximately 100 million soums to the state budget.

This development reflects the Uzbek authorities’ ongoing efforts to strengthen oversight in the pharmaceutical sector and protect consumer rights. The committee has signaled that it will continue to monitor pricing practices and take action against any future violations to maintain fair competition in the market.
