Since the start of the 'Improvement and Mercy Month' on July 17, environmental control officers and Eco-Police have identified nearly 350 violations of environmental legislation. This was reported by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.

The most common violations are related to illegal waste management. During the month, 285 such cases were registered, each resulting in administrative measures. On August 3 alone, ecologists detected 17 more violations in Karakalpakstan, Navoi, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Tashkent, and Khorezm regions, as well as in Tashkent city.

Additionally, cases of illegal tree cutting and damage continue to be uncovered. Since the beginning of the month, 62 such incidents have been recorded. Offenders have been held accountable under Article 79 of the Administrative Responsibility Code and required to compensate for the damage caused to nature.

On August 3 alone, inspectors recorded five more such violations in Bukhara, Samarkand, Syrdarya, and Tashkent regions, as well as in the capital. The Committee reminded that illegal tree cutting and environmental pollution entail liability under the law.

Control measures continue across the country. Earlier, inspectors recorded 48 environmental violations in the capital and Tashkent region, most related to illegal dumping of construction waste and tree cutting.
