Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz reports. In July, the representative office of Uzbekistan's Migration Agency in Moscow provided social, legal, and practical assistance to hundreds of labor migrants. Compatriots were helped to return home, recover wages, obtain documents, or find new employment.

Over the month, 774 citizens of Uzbekistan received support. Of these, 597 people, including 110 women and 228 minors, were sent back to their homeland. Another 91 people received one-time financial aid, and 83 citizens who were left homeless were placed in a hostel for a month free of charge. Additionally, partial payment for treatment was made for three seriously ill compatriots.

Another 860 people received legal and practical assistance. Specialists at the representative office helped 64 citizens recover wage arrears from employers totaling 4 million rubles. Another 53 migrants were issued documents for returning to Uzbekistan, 31 people had documents withheld by employers returned, and 712 citizens received legal consultations.

Also in July, 220 Uzbeks who had lost their jobs were employed at seven Russian enterprises.

The Agency reminded that citizens of Uzbekistan can contact the representative office in Moscow for issues with wages, documents, or disputes with employers.

Earlier, a criminal case was opened in Russia against employers who owed Uzbek migrants 24 million rubles.
