In Urgench, a new advanced vocational college and a 'Professions Town' have been established. The complex will train youth according to international programs, preparing them for work in industry, construction, logistics, and other in-demand fields. The construction of the college was funded with 72.4 billion soums from the state budget.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan inspected the educational complex. On a territory of 5.2 hectares, two academic buildings with a capacity of 1,100 students, a dormitory for 300, a sports hall, a canteen for 200, and two workshops equipped with modern machinery have been built.

Training is organized according to programs from Germany, Switzerland, the UK, China, and South Korea. For the 2026/2027 academic year, 200 young men and women were selected through a competitive process to study 11 specialties. The educational process follows a dual system, combining theory with practical experience at enterprises.

The college will also serve as a practical base for other vocational education institutions in the Khorezm region. Approximately 4,300 students from the region will be able to undergo training in its workshops and laboratories.

On the complex's territory, a 'Professions Town' operates, where schoolchildren and youth can work with equipment based on the 'Do-It-Yourself' principle. It features directions related to transport and logistics, industry and construction, services, agriculture, and green energy.

President Mirziyoyev instructed to regularly adapt educational programs to employers' demands and to replicate this experience in other regions. Similar colleges are planned to be gradually established in Karakalpakstan and other regions of the country.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan intends to quadruple the number of private vocational education centers.
