According to a sample survey conducted by the National Statistics Committee (now the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan), the share of the population aged 10 and older using the internet reached 97.3% in January–August 2026. This represents an increase of approximately 27% compared to 2021.

The share of internet users by year is as follows: 2021 — 76.6%; 2022 — 83.9%; 2023 — 89.0%; 2024 — 93.3%; 2025 — 94.6%; 2026 (January–August) — 97.3%. These figures indicate the rapid expansion of digital technologies across the country.

According to the committee, the number of mobile internet subscribers in Uzbekistan continues to grow simultaneously. While there were 21 million subscribers in 2021, the figure rose to 33.3 million by the beginning of 2026 — an increase of 12.3 million, or nearly 59%.

Experts attribute such a high level of internet penetration to the development of remote education, online services, and the digital economy in the post-pandemic period. At the same time, internet speed and quality in rural areas still lag behind urban indicators.

Under the "Digital Uzbekistan – 2030" strategy, the government is taking measures to further expand internet coverage. However, some specialists note that the statistical data are based on a sample survey and may not fully reflect the actual level of usage.
