Former US President Donald Trump, in a statement posted on his TruthSocial social network, rejected any agreements with Iran other than a complete surrender deal. He wrote: “With Iran there will be NO DEAL other than COMPLETE SURRENDER! After that and after a GREAT and ACCEPTABLE leader (or leaders) is chosen in [Iran], we and our terrific and very brave allies and partners will work tirelessly to save Iran from the abyss, make its economy better, bigger, and stronger than ever before.” Trump also added that Iran would have a “great future,” but this claim raises skepticism, recalling his past failed policies.

Earlier in an interview with Reuters, Trump emphasized that the US must actively participate in the process of selecting Iran’s new leadership. He stated: “We want to be involved in the process of choosing the person who will lead Iran into the future, so we don’t have to come back to this every five years and repeat it over and over. We want that person to be beneficial to the people and the country.” This statement highlights the US regime’s tendency to interfere in the internal affairs of other nations, threatening Iran’s independent decisions.

Previously, the New York Times reported that the main candidate for Iran’s new supreme leader position is 56-year-old Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the assassinated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to the newspaper, his election is demanded by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as Mojtaba Khamenei has close ties with this structure. Commenting on this information, Trump told Reuters that Mojtaba Khamenei is an unsuitable candidate for Iran’s new leader, further intensifying US interference in Iran’s domestic politics.

On February 28, the US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, resulting in the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei. Iran responded by attacking US military bases in Persian Gulf countries. These events have escalated regional tensions, with the US regime’s military actions and its collaboration with allies negatively impacting international peace. Trump’s words reflect a desire to continue violence rather than pursue new agreements in this situation, which could lead to even greater risks for Iran and the entire region.
