Tashkent – Shukhrat Arinov has been appointed as the acting chairman of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan. The decision was made during a meeting of the organization's board, where he replaced Kholmurod Salimov, who had previously served as the acting head of the union. The national news agency UzA reported on these personnel changes.
Prior to this appointment, Shukhrat Arinov worked as the head of the press service at the Business Development Bank. Information about Kholmurod Salimov's new position has not been officially announced yet, but according to available data, he may have been appointed as the acting first deputy chairman of the union.
Arinov was born in 1981 in the Uchkuprik district of the Fergana region. He graduated from the National University of Uzbekistan and the Academy of State and Public Construction under the President. With nearly 27 years of experience in the media sphere, he began his career in 1999 as a journalist, working for several newspapers.
Later, he held positions in state and public organizations, including the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment. He also worked in the system of the political party UzLiDeP in the areas of information policy and press service. In addition to administrative activities, Shukhrat Arinov is known as a writer and represented Uzbekistan at the 15th International Festival of Turkic Poetry in Turkey in 2022. He has been awarded the "Shukhrat" medal.
