The tournament, held from March 2 to 8, saw the young Uzbek hockey players win all five of their matches. In the fourth round, the team overcame Bulgaria with a 5:3 score, accumulating 11 points to top the standings. This triumph earned Uzbekistan promotion, with the team set to compete in Division II Group B next season.
The young champions dedicated their historic win to International Women's Day. The hockey players stated that the world championship gold medal is a gift to the mothers who raised the winners and to all women of Uzbekistan.
