Uzbekistan national team striker Eldor Shomurodov scored a brace for Istanbul Basaksehir in their 4-0 victory over Genclerbirligi in the sixth round of the Turkish Super Lig. The match took place at the home ground of the Istanbul club, where the hosts secured a convincing win.

The 31-year-old forward opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, controlling Ivan Brnic's cross from the left flank inside the penalty area and firing a low shot into the net. In the 65th minute, after receiving a pass from Olsen, he found the far corner from the right side of the box to make it 4-0.

This season, Shomurodov has scored against Kocaelispor, Trabzonspor, Kasimpasa, Galatasaray, and now Genclerbirligi. He started the match and was substituted in the 77th minute by Berkay Ozcan.

After six rounds, Basaksehir has collected 7 points and sits in 12th place in the league table. Shomurodov's contract with the club runs until the end of June 2028, and he joined the team in July 2025.

For context, Eldor Shomurodov finished the 2025/2026 Turkish Super Lig season as the top scorer with 22 goals.
