Pakistan's armed forces carried out an airstrike on a desert area in the ninth district of Kandahar in southern Afghanistan. Afghan authorities reported no destruction or casualties, though a powerful explosion was heard across the city. The news was reported by Tolonews, citing Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

According to Mujahid, the attack caused no damage or injuries. However, the blast was audible in all districts of the city. Law enforcement urged residents not to worry. Despite official reassurances, local sources report panic and unusual military activity.

Pakistan's Information Minister Ataullah Tarar stated that Pakistani Air Force jets struck ten targets inside Afghanistan. Islamabad claims these sites were used for launching and storing drones. He provided no further details. The claims have not been independently verified.

Tensions between the two countries have been escalating since October last year, following Pakistani airstrikes on Kabul. At that time, Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense announced a "retaliation operation." After several days of mutual strikes, Qatar and Turkey mediated a ceasefire.

In late February, Afghanistan launched an operation along the Durand Line in response to new Pakistani airstrikes. Islamabad retaliated and declared an open armed conflict with the Taliban.
