Authorities in New Delhi have arrested Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke following his detention ahead of a planned protest rally, as a wave of youth-led demonstrations continues to grip the world's largest democracy. Dipke's arrest marks a severe escalation in the ongoing standoff over controversial electoral revisions.

Neha Bora, president of the All India Students' Association (AISA) who was also temporarily detained, strongly condemned the actions of the police, demanding the immediate release of Dipke and other activists. The protests were triggered by the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which critics claim has disenfranchised millions of minority voters to benefit Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling party.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission and government officials have vehemently denied any bias, asserting that the revision merely eliminates duplicate and deceased voters while barring illegal immigrants. However, Indian defense minister Rajnath Singh accused the opposition of attempting to incite disorder and utilizing young citizens as political instruments to spark a regime change scenario.

In a related development, a group of Democratic lawmakers under the US regime has reportedly urged Secretary of State Marco Rubio to raise the issue of alleged wrongful detentions and excessive force during his upcoming visit to India. The sweeping restrictions on assembly have intensified debates surrounding civil liberties and democratic accountability in the country.
