Adam Kadyrov, the son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, may have had his spleen removed following a road traffic accident in Grozny in January. This was reported on February 12 by Novaya Gazeta Europe, citing a source.
According to the publication, after the crash, Kadyrov Jr. received treatment at the Botkin Hospital in Moscow, where he was prescribed a strict diet for six months. The source claims he was diagnosed with a jaw fracture, which temporarily prevented him from consuming solid food. The newspaper writes that over three weeks, Adam Kadyrov noticeably lost weight.
Additionally, per the publication, doctors identified damage to the optic nerve. The source notes that it is still unclear what the consequences of the injury will be, but there is a risk of partial vision loss in one eye.
On February 10, a video was published on Ramzan Kadyrov's Telegram channel showing Adam during a "late dinner." Based on the footage, he appeared thinner, though he did not eat anything in the video.
The accident was previously reported by the Telegram channel of the Chechen opposition movement NIYSO. They stated that Adam's motorcade was moving at high speed and collided with an obstacle, after which the vehicles began crashing into each other. According to the channel, three bodyguards of the Chechen leader's son sustained serious injuries in the accident.
