A new street dedicated to participants of an 'overseas military operation' has been opened in the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. This was reported by the state agency KCNA.

The ceremonial event was held with the participation of the country's leader Kim Jong Un. The new street was named Saebeor ('New Star'). During the event, housing warrants for apartments located on this street were presented to the families of deceased military personnel.

According to the agency, Kim Jong Un personally visited several families of fallen soldiers. Specifically, he went to the home of the wife of serviceman O Tae Chol, where he inspected the residence and spoke with relatives. The DPRK leader also visited a family that lost twin sons who participated in the operation.

The exact location of the 'overseas military operation' was not specified in the KCNA report.

Previously, it was reported that in 2024, following combat actions in Russia's Kursk region, North Korea sent its military to support Russian troops. Officially, the authorities of the DPRK and Russia have long not confirmed the presence of a North Korean contingent, and data on its size and losses remain classified.
