President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djurić on May 6. The main outcome of the meeting was an agreement to prepare a full-scale cooperation program covering mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, chemical industry, agriculture, and the IT sector.
To implement these plans, the sides agreed to hold the first session of the Intergovernmental Commission in Belgrade this year. Priority will be given to increasing trade turnover and launching joint projects in tourism.
During the talks, Minister Djurić conveyed greetings from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. The sides noted with satisfaction the intensification of contacts between governments, parliaments, and business circles following the high-level agreements reached in October 2025.
Beyond the economic agenda, the meeting also addressed cooperation in organized labor migration, education, and cultural exchange. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on current international political issues and discussion of the schedule for future high-level contacts.
