Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, the First Lady of Uzbekistan and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Zamin Foundation, visited several social facilities in the Khorezm region during a working trip, focusing on supporting, training, and developing children with special needs.
The first stop was Specialized Boarding School No. 96 for children with hearing impairments in Urgench. Here, Mirziyoyeva inspected a unique training bakery. This project goes far beyond ordinary labor training. The bakery provides a full-fledged base for mastering a sought-after craft, from dough preparation to baking finished products. For children with hearing impairments, such skills become a real “social elevator,” enabling them to find jobs in catering establishments or start their own businesses after graduation. The First Lady emphasized that acquiring a specific profession is key to financial independence and successful integration of youth into modern society.
The program continued with a visit to the Inclusive Center for the Development of Children's Creativity and Talents, operating under the National Social Protection Agency. The center has a barrier-free environment where children with various developmental features can engage in arts, applied crafts, and music alongside their peers.
Mirziyoyeva had an informal conversation with the center's female students. The girls shared their creative achievements and future plans. During the discussion, it was stressed that the task of the state and public organizations is not just to provide leisure conditions, but to identify the spark of talent in every child and provide them with necessary psychological and pedagogical support.
