By decree of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Muzaffar Kamilov Murotovich has been appointed as the head of the Department for Religious and Educational Affairs within the Presidential Administration. This was officially announced by the President's press secretary, Sherzod Asadov. The appointment highlights Kamilov's extensive experience in religious and educational spheres, as he previously held key positions such as rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, advisor to the President on cooperation with public and religious organizations, and first deputy chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs.

In connection with this appointment, Muzaffar Kamilov has been relieved of his duties as deputy advisor to the President on matters concerning representative bodies, non-governmental non-profit organizations, religion, and youth. This change signifies a complete departure from his previous role, with the new position aimed at expanding his responsibilities in the religious and educational domain.

Kamilov's appointment to this new role underscores the heightened focus that Uzbek authorities are placing on religious and educational issues. His prior experience with the Islamic academy and religious organizations is viewed as crucial for ensuring effective governance in this area. This move is part of broader policy efforts to develop the religious and educational system and promote spiritual education among youth in Uzbekistan.
