In all districts of Tashkent, from March 30 to May 13, a reduction in drinking water pressure or a temporary complete suspension of supply is expected. This was officially announced by the press service of "Tashkent City Water Supply." These measures are related to large-scale preventive maintenance work on the city's main water pipeline networks, conducted as part of preparations for the spring season of 2026.
The suspension of water supply or significant pressure reduction will affect a number of districts, including Uchtepa, Shaykhontohur, Yashnobod, Mirzo Ulugbek, Sergeli, Yakkasaroy, Chilanzar, Almazar, Bektemir, Yangihayot, Mirobod, Yunusabad, and others. According to the list, hundreds of neighborhoods, apartment buildings, government institutions, hospitals, embassies, universities, and industrial enterprises will be impacted. For example, the Presidential Administration in Yakkasaroy district, Tashkent State University of Economics in Chilanzar district, and several foreign embassies in Yashnobod district may be left without water supply.
Special water tanker trucks will be dispatched to areas with suspended water supply, but this temporary solution may cause inconveniences for residents and organizations. The press service provided contact phones for information, but detailed mechanisms for resolving issues during the disruptions were not disclosed. While these maintenance works are framed as part of modernizing the city's infrastructure, prolonged supply interruptions could negatively affect daily life and slow economic activity.
