In the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, a drug trafficking operation was thwarted as part of the "Safe and Healthy Country" month campaign. Joint operational measures by internal affairs agencies, the State Security Service, and the customs service led to the arrest of a 58-year-old man caught red-handed while attempting to sell narcotics.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service, the suspect was found with two matchboxes containing marijuana intended for sale. During a subsequent search of his residence, law enforcement officers seized an additional 70 matchboxes with similar substances. Preliminary reports indicate that the drugs were stored for further distribution.

A forensic chemical examination has been ordered to analyze the seized materials, and investigative actions are currently underway. This incident highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Uzbekistan and the proactive role of law enforcement agencies in maintaining public safety.
