Uzbekistan has launched a new initiative aimed at expanding women's access to higher education. Women with work experience can now obtain recommendations for admission to state universities, with 500 quotas allocated for this purpose.

The recommendation mechanism was launched by the Committee for Family and Women's Affairs of Uzbekistan. The recommendation is valid for three years and can be used only once.

The initiative is intended for women without higher education who have graduated from a college or technical school and have worked in their specialty for at least five years. Selection will be based on entrance exam results.

Documents can be submitted online through the government services portal. Applications are open until June 1.

The program does not apply to foreign, private, or military universities.

Earlier, President Mirziyoyev announced expanded support for women's education: the number of grants for girls from needy families will double to 4,000.
