Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Officers of the State Security Service Border Troops have intercepted a major smuggling channel of potent drugs during preventive operations along the state border. The incident occurred on the Fergana section of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border.

During a terrain inspection, border guards discovered three abandoned sacks that had been transported from the neighboring republic and left by unknown individuals. Inside were 30,660 units of the drug "Regapen" and 925 vials of "Tropicamide." The total value of the seized batch of potent medications is estimated at 3.297 billion Uzbek soums (approximately $300,000).

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 246 (Smuggling) and Part 5 of Article 251-1 (Illicit Trafficking of Potent or Toxic Substances) of the Criminal Code. Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a series of measures to identify and apprehend the owners of the illegal cargo.
