The head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Uzbekistan, Irina Staroselskaya, announced that the agency is considering opening a Russian House in Samarkand. The project is planned for implementation in 2027.

Currently, the search for a suitable building is underway. The process is complicated by the diplomatic status of the office, which imposes special requirements on the premises. It is impossible to simply rent any facility.

The project requires official approval from the Uzbek side. Only after resolving all organizational and legal issues can practical implementation begin.

Currently, only one Russian House operates in Uzbekistan, located in Tashkent and functioning for about 25 years.

In December 2025, the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Uzbekistan summarized the results of a busy year: over 250 events were organized and ten strategic agreements were signed in the fields of culture, education, and medicine.
