In January-April 2026, more than 2.2 million citizens of Uzbekistan made foreign trips for tourism purposes. According to the State Statistics Committee, this figure increased by nearly 83,700 compared to the same period last year.

Neighboring countries dominate the list. The most popular destination was Kyrgyzstan with 899,004 visitors, followed by Tajikistan (388,452) and Kazakhstan (354,859).

Among non-neighboring countries, Saudi Arabia led with 138,113 trips (mainly for Umrah). Russia followed with 115,094, Turkey with 70,340, UAE with 31,073, and China with 23,557.

Interest in Asian and African countries is also growing: 16,291 visited Thailand and 15,823 visited Egypt.

Experts attribute the growth to an increase in flight routes, simplified visa procedures, and improved tourism infrastructure. Travel to neighboring countries has been particularly boosted by expanded transport links.
