In the Namangan region (Davlatabad and Mingbulak districts) and the city of Fergana, cases of children being electrocuted at transformer substations have been recorded, resulting in death or disability.

Children's Ombudsman Surayyo Rakhmonova has sent an act of influence to the authorized body demanding measures to prevent such incidents across all regions of the republic.

On May 5, in the Davlatabad district, a 13-year-old boy climbed onto an uncovered transformer and died from electric shock. The prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-investigation check.

The ombudsman's statement emphasized that high-voltage equipment must be constantly safe for the population, especially children.

Earlier, in the Mingbulak district, a 4-year-old child looking for a toilet entered an open transformer and lost both arms. Investigative and judicial authorities confirmed criminal negligence, and the responsible employee was held accountable.

In February, at a private kindergarten in Fergana, a 6-year-old child suffered severe burns to limbs due to an uncovered transformer. A criminal case was initiated.
