Uzbekistan's state debt reached $46.9 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2026, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The bulk of the debt consists of external loans — $39.7 billion. Domestic borrowings account for $7.2 billion.

The World Bank remains the country's main creditor. In the first three months of this year alone, government obligations to the bank increased by over $100 million.

In February, it was reported that the state debt at the end of 2025 stood at $46.8 billion, having increased by more than $6 billion over the year.
