The 11th meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Federation Council of Russia was held in Khorezm region.
The meeting was chaired by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodik Safoev and First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Ilyas Umakhanov. The main focus was on trade, investment, energy, transport and logistics.
The sides noted the steady growth of mutual trade volumes and plan to increase trade turnover to $30 billion in the near future. To achieve this, they aim to reduce administrative barriers, develop logistics links and create more favorable conditions for entrepreneurs.
The next, 12th meeting of the commission is scheduled to be held in Russia. Earlier, Uzbekistan and Russia agreed to accelerate joint projects and reach the target by 2030. Last year, bilateral trade turnover reached $13 billion.
