A man has been detained in the Surxondaryo region for allegedly promising to secure a job for an acquaintance at the Department for Combating Economic Crimes in exchange for $4,000.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the suspect gained the victim's trust and claimed he could use his high-ranking connections to get him hired at the department. He demanded $4,000 for this "service."
The man was caught red-handed while receiving 48 million soums, part of the agreed amount.
A criminal case has been opened under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
This incident follows a previous case where dozens of Uzbek citizens paid thousands of dollars for non-existent jobs in South Korea. In that case, a company director promised employment to nearly 50 people and collected over $28,000 from them.
