Residents of Khatak village in Sherobod district, Surxondaryo region, have been living without access to clean drinking water for years. They have appealed to Saida Mirziyoyeva for help in resolving the long-standing issue.

According to the Ekolog.uz channel, the village lacks a centralized water supply. Locals are forced to use water from an irrigation ditch, which does not meet sanitary standards and is unfit for consumption. The same water source is used by livestock, which further contaminates it.

Regular consumption of such water leads to intestinal and other diseases, especially dangerous for children. To address the problem, residents laid a pipeline from the village to a nearby mountain spring, but it has not been connected due to the lack of permission from environmental authorities. According to residents, the spring has sufficient water reserves, which currently go to waste underground.

The villagers urge authorities to intervene and provide the settlement with safe drinking water. Earlier, over 4,300 residents of remote areas in Karakalpakstan gained access to safe drinking water.
