President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated at a videoconference meeting that Uzbekistan's domestic construction materials industry must win consumer trust. He emphasized the need for comprehensive solutions in quality, standards, assortment, and prices.

The head of state recalled that ten years ago, local construction materials accounted for only 35-40% of the total volume. During this period, $12 billion was invested in the sector, and over 4,000 modern enterprises were launched.

Currently, 98% of materials for housing and industrial construction are produced domestically. Production volume increased from 7 trillion to 53 trillion soums, with exports reaching $1.2 billion last year.

This year, a program was adopted to double housing construction by 2040 — up to 280,000 homes annually. The number of "New Uzbekistan" residential areas will increase from 61 to 120. Housing and commercial facilities alone create an annual demand for construction materials of at least $10 billion.

At the Tashkent International Investment Forum, foreign participants were offered infrastructure projects worth $27 billion: a nuclear power plant in Jizzakh, a processing plant, a new airport, a 55,000-seat stadium, and the Tashkent-Samarkand highway.

The president stressed that large projects require strict quality standards and certification. A system linking major construction sites with local producers must be created. Domestic enterprises should win competition against imports through quality and modern standards.

Summing up the Tashkent forum, the head of state noted that 177 agreements worth $43 billion were signed there.
