In the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, a major drug trafficking operation was thwarted. The operation was carried out by the State Security Service together with customs authorities as part of the second phase of the nationwide 'Safe and Healthy Region' campaign.

During the operation, a Kazakh citizen born in 2004 was detained. A search of his sports bag revealed hidden packages of hashish oil among sweets and other products. The narcotic substance, weighing approximately 11 kg, was confiscated as evidence.

According to law enforcement, the suspect was transporting the drugs from Thailand and intended to transit them through Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan.

A criminal case has been initiated against the foreign citizen, and investigative actions are ongoing.
