Customs officers at Tashkent International Airport have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large batch of drugs from Thailand.

Approximately 34 kilograms of prohibited substances were seized from illegal circulation.

To conceal the origin of the cargo, the criminals devised a complex logistics scheme. Drug couriers traveled to Uzbekistan not on direct flights, but via transit through Vietnam, South Korea, the UAE, and India in an attempt to cover their tracks.

Despite passing through inspections at several foreign airports, the baggage containing the illicit content remained undetected until arrival in Tashkent.

To disguise the drugs, smugglers used packaging of everyday consumer goods. The prohibited substances were hidden in packages of powdered milk, spices, jars of chocolate spread, and bottles of shampoo.

Thanks to the vigilance and professional actions of Uzbek customs officers, the import of dangerous cargo into the republic was timely prevented.
