On July 27, the Criminal Court of Shaykhantakhur District delivered a verdict in the criminal case involving Mubin Mirzayev (born 1969, higher education, previously not convicted, former First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee) and eight other defendants. The Tashkent city courts reported this.

The court found Mirzayev guilty of crimes under Article 168, Part 4, Clause 'a' (Misappropriation or embezzlement of another's property in an especially large amount), Article 205, Part 2, Clause 'a' (Abuse of official powers causing especially large damage), and Article 208 (Inaction of authority) of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 8 years and 2 months of imprisonment, with a 3-year ban on holding certain positions.

The other defendants (some with prior convictions) were found guilty under Articles 141-2 (Violation of personal data legislation), 184 (Tax evasion), 189 (Violation of trade or service rules), 228 (Forgery, sale or use of documents, stamps, seals, forms), and other relevant articles. They received prison terms ranging from 4 to 9 years.

The court also ordered the recovery of damages caused. The sentences are calculated from the date the defendants were taken into custody.

At the end, the presiding judge explained the content of the verdict, as well as the procedure and deadlines for appealing it.

It should be recalled that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev dismissed Mubin Mirzayev from his post in January 2026 for 'negligence and irresponsibility.' Mirzayev had held the position since December 2018.
