The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus, Nuriddin Yakubjonovich Mamajonov, has arrived in Minsk, reports the Dunyo news agency.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Governor of Fergana Region — Head of the Department of Investments and Foreign Trade.

Mamajonov, 45, graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Central Bohemian University of the Czech Republic. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the European Institute of Applied Sciences and Management (Prague).

The new ambassador has held various positions in the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the embassy in Germany, and the Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main. In 2022-2023, he served as Counselor for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Uzbek embassy in China and First Deputy Head of the Economic Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mamajonov replaces Rahmatulla Nazarov, who led the Uzbek embassy in Minsk from 2024 to 2026.
