A major investment project to produce biofuel using hydrogen technologies will be implemented in the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. The total investment volume will amount to $6.1 billion.

A corresponding memorandum of strategic cooperation was signed in the United Arab Emirates between the Emirati companies Allied Biofuel Holding and Deem International Engineering.

The construction of the plant is scheduled for 2026-2030, and the facility is expected to reach full capacity in the third quarter of 2030.

The plant will process sorghum and convert it into fuel using hydrogen technologies. This production method allows obtaining energy from plant raw materials instead of oil and reduces air pollution.

The enterprise plans to produce annually 110,000 tons of aviation biofuel, 300,000 tons of electro-sustainable aviation fuel, and 5,000 tons of green diesel. Of this, 70% of the products will be directed to the domestic market, while 30% will be exported.

Muhammad Alfalasi, CEO of Deem Engineering, stated that the new plant will be another example of partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE. According to him, the two countries are already working together on projects in energy, industry, agriculture, and infrastructure, and the biofuel plant in Khorezm will continue this work.

Earlier, the first production of chemical additives for road construction in Uzbekistan was being prepared for launch in the Bukhara region.
