Uzbekistan's largest oil and gas company, Uzbekneftegaz, has established a new national drilling company called UNG Burg‘ilash within its system, the company's press service reported.
According to the business registry, the company was registered on June 25 with an authorized capital of 10 billion soums. The main task of the new entity will be drilling oil and gas wells on the Ustyurt plateau and other promising areas of Uzbekistan.
The company is expected to participate in the search for new hydrocarbon reserves, their development, and ensuring production stability. Uzbekneftegaz stated that the establishment of the company also aims to introduce modern deep drilling technologies and form a national school of specialists in this field.
UNG Burg‘ilash is expected to create over 1,000 new jobs. The company is purchasing 21 modern drilling rigs of models ZJ-70 and ZJ-90. The equipment will be equipped with digital control systems and capable of operating at depths of up to 9,000 meters.
Deliveries of the rigs to Uzbekistan are planned to begin in October. The equipment is designed for use in complex geological conditions, including high pressure and temperature.
Additionally, high-pressure cementing complexes, nitrogen and compressor units, well testing and completion equipment, specialized transport, and other machinery will be gradually purchased. This should allow organizing drilling operations in a full technological cycle.
The company also plans to attract engineers and qualified specialists with international experience. The selection of personnel will take into account professional knowledge, skills, and foreign language proficiency.
UNG Burg‘ilash intends to cooperate with foreign service companies in the areas of drilling mud preparation, cementing, logging, supply and operation of drill bits, and well testing.
Uzbekneftegaz hopes that the use of new technologies will improve the quality of well construction, reduce technological risks, and shorten drilling times.
In the future, the company plans to provide drilling and service services not only in Uzbekistan but also in neighboring and other countries' markets.
Last year, Uzbekneftegaz produced 25.2 billion cubic meters of gas, below forecasts. For 2026-2027, the company aims to ensure stable production volumes, as well as increase gas reserves and processing.
