Earlier reports indicated that during construction work on Shota Rustaveli Street, a sewer pipeline was damaged, causing wastewater to flow into the Salar Canal.

Inspectors from the Main Department of Ecology and Climate Change of Tashkent city investigated the situation. The inspection revealed that during the construction of a multi-story residential building by LLC 'B.B.', a section of the city's sewer pipeline was damaged, resulting in a pipe rupture.

Sewage waste was directly discharged into the Salar Canal, which flows through the Yakkasaray district, without any treatment using special pumps.

According to laboratory tests, nearly 64,000 cubic meters of liquid waste were discharged into the Salar Canal without the necessary permits. Consequently, the developer was ordered to pay compensation of 2.16 billion UZS.

Additionally, due to the damage to the sewer pipeline, liquid waste contaminated the soil. Test results showed that the content of petroleum products exceeded the permissible norm by an average of 5.2 times. For this violation, an additional compensation of about 60 million UZS was imposed.

Thus, the total compensation to be paid by the developer amounted to approximately 2.22 billion UZS.
