Anatoliy Osipov, a resident of the 'Lolazor' mahalla in Tashkent's Mirobod district, followed the city administration's calls for greening by planting and caring for saplings distributed three years ago. He watered them at night due to daytime work, loosened the soil, and pruned them for healthy growth.

On July 27, landscaping service workers cut down all his young trees at the roots, ignoring his objections and showing no permit. He was unable to contact the Ecology Committee.

Osipov says this contradicts the administration's appeals to increase green spaces. He laments the wasted three years of effort, saplings, and water. The moratorium on tree cutting was also disregarded.

The resident recalls the mayor's interview on environmental protection but sees the opposite in practice. He highlights the importance of trees during abnormal heat and the authorities' failure to learn lessons.

The Ecopolice of Tashkent's Main Ecology Department stated they were at the scene and are investigating. Results have not been published yet.
