Tashkent will conduct a full inventory of urban territories designated for public use. The inspection will cover the legality of construction permits, compliance with urban planning norms, and the rights of residents.

This was announced by the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, who noted that territories allocated for residents — courtyards, children's and sports grounds, green zones — must retain their original purpose and cannot be used for the construction of office or residential buildings.

The reason for the statement was the situation in the "Lolazor" mahalla in Tashkent's Mirabad district, where, according to local residents, trees they had planted were cut down, and the construction of a business center was planned on the site of a children's playground.

"Residents are rightly outraged when courtyards, playgrounds, and sports grounds disappear due to construction," said Saida Mirziyoyeva.

The Prosecutor General's Office has been tasked with inspecting similar facilities across the city. The inspection will examine how legally construction permits were issued and whether urban planning legislation requirements were met.

If violations are found, responsible persons will face measures up to criminal liability, the head of the Presidential Administration emphasized.
