Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz reports. Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova, representing Uzbekistan, secured the top spot among women at the international Granada Chess Open 2026 tournament held in Spain.
After nine rounds, she scored 6 points, finishing 37th in the overall standings. Her performance also earned her 9.1 points in the international rating.
The competition took place from July 28 to August 2 in Granada. The Swiss-system tournament featured 353 chess players from 48 countries, including 11 grandmasters and 30 international masters.
Earlier, it was reported that Tokhirjonova returned to the Uzbekistan national team after five years of playing for the United States.
