A citizen of Uzbekistan, who had been on the international wanted list for over a year and a half on charges of fraud, has been detained in Turkey and handed over to the Uzbek side. This was reported by Podrobno.uz.

According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, the individual had been hiding in Turkey during this period. Following coordinated efforts between the law enforcement agencies of both countries, the suspect was located and apprehended.

The detainee has already been transferred to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan. He is expected to participate in investigative actions and court proceedings related to the fraud charges.

Earlier, it was reported that a notorious criminal figure, Georgy Sorokin, also known as “Zhorа Tashkentsky” and “Soroka,” was detained in Egypt and extradited to Uzbekistan. This case highlights the ongoing international cooperation in combating crime.
